Srinagar, June 19 (IBNS): An unknown militant was killed in a gun battle with security forces in Buchoo area of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

According to sources, the government forces launched a search operation in the area by acting on specific information about militants.

The militants in hiding opened fire at the joint operation team.

The security forces retaliated, during which the militant was killed.

The search for other militants was still going on.
