Kolkata, May 20 (IBNS): Software giant Microsoft in collaboration with Federation of Small and Medium Industries (FOSMI), West Bengal, will help more than 1200 SMBs and 27 affiliated associations to adopt Microsoft Office 365.

“Business dynamics and models are rapidly changing. With the onset of the internet, old models are becoming redundant. Enhanced mobility, increased communication and prudent and speedy business decision-making are the hallmarks of today’s business. The need for such level of transformation prompted FOSMI to work towards exposing our members to cloud computing, in order to differentiate themselves from competitors,” Biswanath Bhattacharya, President, FOSMI, said.

“We appreciate Microsoft’s pioneering effort in cloud computing and its intent to offer competitive advantage to our  members around the cloud and this is laudable indeed," he said.

In accordance with Microsoft, FMOSI would be working with Embee Software, one of Microsoft’s licensing partners in this context, to provide more efficient, more collaborative and grow their revenue by 12.5 per cent every year, he added.

Addressing the media, Alok Lal, Director, Microsoft Office Division Microsoft India, said “Technology provides significant opportunities for SMBs to focus on business priorities and leverage self-provisioned cloud solutions for their IT needs. Microsoft provides enterprise-grade cloud solution at affordable price point to help SMBs benefit by way of flexible and scalable solutions. Our engagement with FOSMI is aimed at educating a large base of SMB customers about the
advantage of moving to the cloud, especially the benefits of digitizing  communication with Microsoft office 365.”
