Mayawati takes veiled jibe at Congress leader Priyanka for seeking permission to ply 1,000 buses in UP

Lucknow/UNI: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Sunday took a veiled potshot at Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, suggesting her to use 1,000 buses in the grand old party-rules states instead of offering it to Uttar Pradesh for ferrying migrant workers.

In a series of tweets, Mayawati said, 'It would be better if the Congress first make those 1000 buses available for the migrants stranded in Punjab so they could reach home safely instead of walking for several hundred kilometers.'

She further claimed that Congress should also learn the lesson from above incidents, as thousands of migrants in Punjab were also traveling through Yamuna river to reach home which could turn fatal any time.

Mayawati's reaction comes just a day after Ms Vadra shot off a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, seeking his permission to provide 1,000 buses to transport migrant labourers back to their homes.

Vadra sent the letter post road accident in Auraiyya which claimed lives of 26 labourers.Taking veiled potshot at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who on Saturday interacted with migrants labourers stranded on road, the BSP chief said, 'It would be more better if the Congress leader instead of just listening to the woes of the migrant labourers, would have extended some necessary help like food or money which they need more at this time.'

Targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party, she claimed that in the saffron party-rules states, the condition of migrant labourers is very pathetic and painful and that the government is insensitive towards the problems faced by the workers in reaching their homes.
