Maoist arrested in West Bengal

Saraikela-Kharsawan, July 28 (UNI): A Maoist, allegedly a key conspirator in killing of five policemen in Kukru Haat Bazar under Tiruldih police station area in this district, has been nabbed from Galsi Police Station area of East Midnapur district of West Bengal.

DIG Kolhan Kuldeep Dwivedi today said that another significant arrest has been made in the follow up of the Kukru Haat case.

“Police has got significant clues about others and we will bring each and every one of the perpetrators behind the bars…no culprit will be spared,” he said.

The DIG said that operations and onslaught against the Maoists will intensify further.

The arrested ultra has been identified as Aalamgir Aalam. SP Saraikela had received a tip-off regarding presence of Aalam in West Bengal after which a special investigation team was sent to West Bengal which managed to make the arrest.

A smart phone was also seized from him.

Police had earlier arrested four rebels who were involved in this incident. Five policemen were martyred as the Maoists opened attack on them while they were having soft drinks at Kukru Haat.
