Kolkata, Jan 2 (IBNS): A woman student of Hospitality Management was found dead inside the staff quarter of Eastern Metropolitan Club near Santoshpur in southern Kolkata on Monday morning, reports said.

According to reports, nearly 22-year-old Purnima Debnath, who was a resident of Balurghat in West Bengal's South Dinajpur district, joined the posh club at E.M. Bypass area under Survey Park Police Station as a trainee about two months ago and was staying at its staff quarter.

As she did not open the door of her room in the morning, police were called in.

After breaking the door's lock, she was found hanging from the ceiling and rushed to a nearby hospital, where the woman was declared brought dead.

After primary investigation, police are suspecting that the 22-year-old committed suicide due to relationship problems.

"No suicide note has been found, but we have seized a book from her room, where she had wrote something. We are investigating into it," DC (SSD) of Kolkata Police, Badana Varun Chandra Sekhar, told IBNS.

Lodging  a case of unnatural death (UD) on suo-motto basis, officials from Survey Park PS and Kolkata Police's Homicide Department have started probe into the matter.
