Man arrested for cleaning chicken blood with Tricolour: Report

Silvasassa: A man was arrested in Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli after a video went viral on social media showing him allegedly using the Tricolour to clean chicken, media reports said.

According to a report in the media, a man working at a poultry shop was arrested after a video went viral on social media where he was seen "insulting" the national flag by using it to clean chicken.

Police said the man was arrested under Section 2 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 following a complaint.

Section 2 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 deals with people burning, mutilating, defacing, defiling, disfiguring, destroying, or trampling upon the national flag in a public place or in any other place within public view.

If proven guilty, he could face a sentence of up to three years in prison or a fine, or both.
