Mamata can be the president of United Congress: BJP MP Subramanian Swamy
New Delhi, July 13 (IBNS): Expressing concern over the decaying Congress party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy recently said Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee should lead a united Congress to strengthen the nation's democracy.
Swamy tweeted, "After witnessing Goa and Kashmir, I feel that nation's democracy will weaken if we are left with BJP as a single party. Solution? Ask Italians & progeny to leav. Mamata can then be President of united Congi thereafter. NCP should also follow and merge."

Mamata, interestingly, who had started her political career in early 1980s as a Congress leader, left the grand old party to form her own Trinamool.
As many as 10 Congress MLAs have switched to the BJP in Goa and three of the defectors have also been accommodated in the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant-led cabinet.
In Karnataka, 18 Congress along with the Janata Dal (Secular) MLAs have submitted their resignations to the Speaker. Speculations are rife that the MLAs are likely to join the BJP.
The BJP storm also lashed out at West Bengal in the General Elections 2019 as the saffron party made a huge inroad in the state by winning 18 seats, reducing the Trinamool's tally from 34 to 22.
The Left too has been marginalised in the entire nation.
Though the Samajwadi Party (SP), the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) were expecting to sweep Uttar Pradesh by forming an alliance, the results brought nothing but an utter disappointment to the three parties as the BJP won 62 seats in the northern state.
