Make in India fire brought under control, inquiry ordered

Mumbai, Feb 14 (IBNS) A massive fire broke out during a cultural programme of the Make In India week event in Mumbai on Sunday which made Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavisto order an inquiry into the incident.

14 fire engines,10 water tankers rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.

"A comprehensive inquiry into the incidence of fire will be conducted to ascertain reasons," Fadnavis tweeted.

"14 Fire engines,10 Water Tankers, and all Sr. Fire Officers are on site. Fire now totally under control. Program called off," he said.

No one has been hurt in the incident.

The Maharashtra CM has spoken with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue.

"Hon'ble PM @narendramodi just spoke to me over the phone about the unfortunate incident and extended all support from GoI," Fadnavis tweeted.

Several celebrities and politicians were present at the spot when the fire broke out, reports said.

The venue was evacuated immediately after flames were spotted, officials said.
