Maharashtra govt. implicated me in hit and run case: Salman Khan to SC

| | Apr 07, 2016, at 06:03 pm
Mumbai, Apr 7 (IBNS) Responding to Maharashtra government's appeal against his acquittal in the 2002 hit and run case, Bollywood actor Salman Khan said that he was being framed and implicated by the state government, according to reports.

In an affidavit, Khan told the Supreme Court that he was not driving the vehicle which lost control and mowed down pavement dwellers.

The Bollywood actor tried defending himself by saying that his driver had called the police station on the night of the incident but the police said that they were under pressure to arrest him, Deccan Chronicle reported.

Salman was acquitted from all charges by the Bombay High Court last year, a decision that received mixed reviews.

While his fraternity welcomed the verdict, the common people saw red and accused the Court of bias.
