Maharashtra: Another COVID-19 care centre for police set up in Palghar

Palghar/UNI: A COVID-19 care centre, instituted exclusively for the police personnel, has become operational in Posheri village of Wada taluka here, informed police on Tuesday.

The treatment facility, which houses dedicated Covid Healthcare Centre and Covid Care Centre, is the second of its kind built on the lines of maiden institution in Marol locality of Mumbai.

Being the worst-hit State from the pandemic, both the centers have been dedicated for serving the policemen infected from the contagion.

As there is no jail in Palghar, the arrested are lodged in lockups of the police stations, which may be the reason for pandemic spread among the police force.

Considering such woes, Collector Kailash Shinde and Civil Surgeon Dr Kanchan Wanere made relentless efforts in setting up the center.

Having 100 beds and modern facilities, the Posheri center will be helpful for the infected personnel who earlier faced ordeals in treatment process, remarked Superintendent of Police Dattatrya Shinde.
