Maharashtra: 48 Remdesivir injections stolen from Aurangabad health facility

Aurangabad/UNI: In view of shortage of vital injections in COVID treatment, forty-eight vials of Remdesivir injections have gone missing from the Aurangabad Municipal Medical (AMC) Store Room at Meltron Hospital.

AMC Administrator and Commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey has issued a show cause notice to five store employees and ordered an immediate inquiry into the matter.

The corporation had procured 10,000 of Remedicavir from the government quota for the treatment of corona patients.

Some of these were given to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and District General Hospital(DGH) at Chikalthana area.

It may noted that five injections are were from DGH few days back.

The AMC used 4500 Remdesivir injections for patients at the Melton Covid Center and the rest of the injections were kept in the Corporation's store room.

But it was noticed that the 48 Remedesivir injection box had disappeared from the store room.

It may noted that two days back, Aurangabad crime branch busted a seven-member gang here involving in selling Remedesivir in black marketing at the cost of Rs 20000.
