Ludhiana, Jan 17 (IBNS) : A team of National Investigating Agency (NIA) on Thursday apprehended a madrasa teacher from a mosque in Ludhiana suspecting him to be a member of an ISIS module, media reports said.

He is among four held by NIA which raided at least six locations in four districts of western Uttar Pradesh and Punjab for interrogation in connection with the recently uncovered ISIS-inspired module.

The Indian Express quoted its sources as saying that Mohammad Owais, who is in his mid-twenties, had come to Ludhiana from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh around a month ago and started working as a maulvi-cum-madrasa teacher at Madni mosque on Rahon road.

The report quoted a police official as saying that a team of NIA raided the mosque in the wee hours and detained a person for suspected ISIS links.
