Madhusudanachari elected Talangana's first Speaker

Hyderabad, June 10 (IBNS) Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA from Bhoopalapalli, S Madhusudanachari, was on Tuesday elected the first Speaker of the Telangana assembly.

He was elected unopposed by all 119 members of the assembly.

K Chandrasekhar Rao on June 2 morning took oath as the first chief minister of India's newest state Telangana, which came into being from midnight June 1 night after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Rao, who heads the TRS, was sworn in along with 11 other ministers, that also included his son KT Rama Rao and nephew T Harish Rao.

Other names included Mahmood Ali, Dr T Rajaiah, Nayani, Etala and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.

TRS has 62 legislators in the 119-member newly formed Telangana assembly.
