#LokSabhaelection2019:Bharatiya Janata Party names spokesman Sambit Patra from Puri in Odisha

New Delhi, Mar 22 (UNI/IBNS): The BJP Central Election Committee on Friday night announced the name of party spokesman Sambit Patra as its candidate from the prestigious Puri parliamentary constituency in Odisha.

"Congratulations to my colleague Sambit Patra and all the luck for contesting from Puri in Odisha," party leader and media co incharge Sanjay Mayukh tweeted.

 

BJP is aiming to win substantial number of seats in Naveen Patnaik-ruled Odisha, which sends 21 lawmakers to the Lower House of Parliament.


The fresh list of candidates was released after BJP CEC meeting which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah and senior leaders of the party including Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari and Sushma Swaraj.


In the second list for Andhra Pradesh, the saffron party named its candidates for 13 Lok Sabha seats and 12 assembly seats in the state.


In the first list of nominees from Odisha, the BJP on Thursday named candidates for Sundargarh – Jual Oram, Balasore – Pratap Sarangi, Bolangir – Sangeeta Singhdeo, Nabarangpur – Balabhadra Majhi, Kendrapara – Baijayant Panda, Berhampur – Bhrugu Baxipatra, Dhenkanal – Rudra Narayan Pani, Bhubaneswar – Aparajita Sarangi, Keonjhar – Anant Nayak and Aska – Anita Priyadarshini.
