Srinagar, Oct 27 (IBNS): In a major blow to militant outfits, the Kashmir Police, with the assistance of 30 RR, unearthed a recruitment module of militant outfit Laskhar-e-Toiba (LeT), thus averting a major terror and subversion plan of the militants.

Eight members of the module were arrested from North Kashmir's Sopore Town on Sunday.

Sources told IBNS that the local boys were recruited into the outfit building a network of LeT operatives who were bent upon executing various terrorist actions in and around Sopore in criminal conspiracy with one foreign terrorist of LeT outfit Umer Khitab, a resident of Pakistan who is operating in Sopore region.

After being indoctrinated with Jihadi ideology, the group members had formally joined LeT organization and were provided the communication gadgets and weaponry.

Sources further said during investigation 08 UBGL, 05 Chinese grenades and 100 AK-47 rounds have been recovered from the arrestees. An FIR (79/2014 under section 7/25 of IA act) was registered by police.

During investigation it was found that the module was being commanded by foreign terrorist Khitab who is operating under the direct command and control of Hanzullah of Pakistan. Involvement of these militants in other actions of terrorism and subversive actions is being investigated.
