Kolkata: Youth held for allegedly trying to kidnap minor girl

Kolkata, Feb 16 (IBNS): Police on Wednesday late night arrested a youth for allegedly trying to abduct a nearly 11-year-old girl at Aswini Nagar area under Baguiati Police Station limits in Kolkata, local media reports said.

According to reports, while the girl was returning home alone in the late evening, the youth tried to kidnap her and also forced her to get into a car.

When the girl shouted for help, locals rushed to the scene and rescued her, besides detaining the youth.

The accused man, who has been identified as Shahanwaz, was handed over to the police later.

After arresting him, police have started investigation into the matter.
