Kolkata: Taxi strike comes to an end

Kolkata, Sept 22 (IBNS): Giving relief to commuters in Kolkata, the taxi strike called by the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) and the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) was withdrawn on Monday after the Governor's intervention.

The taxi strike had started on Sept 18.

On Monday, the CITU and the AITUC delegations met West Bengal Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi where he  assured them that he will take a role to solve their problems, reports said.

According to reports, he also wrote a letter to the state transport minister Madan Mitra regarding the problems of taxi drivers.
