Kolkata, Feb 15 (IBNS): A middle-aged woman and her 9-month-old baby boy were recovered dead from an apartment at EE Block area under Bidhannagar East Police Station limits in Kolkata's satellite town Salt Lake on Wednesday evening, reports said.

According to reports, the woman- Poulami Routh- and her child were found dead inside their bedroom at Sourav Apartment in Salt Lake EE Block.

After being informed, police recovered the bodies and have sent those for post-mortem.

"As the door was locked from inside, we are suspecting that the woman committed suicide after killing her 9-month-old son," a senior official of Bidhannagar City Police told IBNS.

"We have detained her husband- Anup Rauth- and in-laws for interrogation and have called Poulami Routh's parents to confirm if their daughter was suffering from mental torture in in-laws house. We are also quizzing her another son, who is 8-year-old," the official added.
