Kolkata midnight shooting: Police arrest main accused

Kolkata, Jul 13 (IBNS): The Kolkata Police on Monday evening arrested three main accused in connection with Haridevpur midnight firing incident.

One pedestrian was gunned down and two others were injured by bullets when some miscreants fired indiscriminately near Kobordanga area under Haridevpur Police Station in Kolkata on Wednesday. The firing incident occurred following a brawl at a bar located in the area.

"Anti-Rowdy Squad of Kolkata Police's Detective Department has arrested one of the main accused Bappa Ghosh and his two close-aides Samir Bag alias Votka and Dhananjay Mistri alias Dhona from Kalitola area under Hemnagar Costal Police Station area near India-Bangladesh border," Joint CP (Crime) Pallab Kanti Ghosh told IBNS.

They will be produced in the court on Tuesday.

Police had earlier arrested Bijay Bhowmik and Ganesh Adhikary in connection with the case.
