Kolkata man, who was found living with sister's skeleton, recovered dead at his flat

Kolkata, Feb 21 (IBNS): The charred body of a middle aged man, who in 2015 was found living with the skeletons of his sister and two pet dogs in Kolkata's Park Street area, was recovered from a posh apartment in the Watgunj area in the city's south-western part on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

According to reports, Partha De, nearly 45,  was found in a burning condition in his bathroom at around 12 pm.

"When Partha De was rescued from his flat, no sign of life was found in his body," a senior official of Kolkata Police told IBNS.

"A half-filled patrol bottle with matchsticks were also found beside his body," the official added.

After preliminary investigation, police suspect that Partha De might have committed suicide.

However, after sending his body for post-mortem, investigators have begun probe into the matter, while his neighbours, few locals and the  flat's caretaker are being quizzed.

In June 10 in 2015, the badly burned body of Partha De's father Arobindo De was found inside a locked bathroom in their Robinson Street residence.

Police later recovered the skeletons of Partha's sister Debjani De and their two pet dogs from his bedroom.

During interrogation, police came to know that De had been living all-the-day-round with those skeletons for few years.

However, after spending few months in a mental asylum, Partha De was released last year in a mentally stable condition, according to reports.
