Kolkata: Fibre glass factory fire brought under control

Kolkata, Aug 4 (IBNS): The major fire which broke out in the Hindustan Fibre Glass Works on Tuesday afternoon has been brought under control, officials said.

West Benga fire and emergency services minister  Javed Ahmed Khan told IBNS: "Fire fighters brought the blaze under control very fast. They also prevented the fire from reaching other residences and a petrol pump nearby.The cause of the fire ca be known after investigation."

The flames were first noticed around 3:45 pm on Tuesday from the fibre glass factory.

As many as 15 fire engines and police force from the Barrackpore Commissionarate went to the spot.

Fire fighters fought for hours to bring the fire under control.

No casualty has been reported so far.

But the fibre glass factory and another plywood godown nearby have been gutted completely.
