Kolkata, Nov 22 (IBNS): While West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is spreading anti-demonetisation movement across the country, state's governor Keshari Nath Tripathi on Tuesday said that Central government's decision of scrapping 500/1000 rupees notes was a great step against black money.

While addressing an event, organized by country's one of the apex trade associations- Associated Chambers of Commerce of India (Assocham), in Kolkata, Tripathi said, "The government has taken a bold step to root out the black money."

"Let us abandon the negative thoughts. This step will bring a sustained growth in country's economy," the governor added.

Meanwhile, several opposition parties will be holding a dharna in New Delhi's Gandhi Statue area and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee will demonstrate over demonetisation issue at Jantar Mantar area on Wednesday, while her party is going to walk in Kolkata, protesting the same issue, on the same day.
