Kolkata: 5 injured in 2 road mishaps on Christmas afternoon

Kolkata, Dec 25 (IBNS): At least five persons were hurt in two road accidents at different locations in Kolkata on Sunday, reports said.

According to reports, a speeding scooty suddenly lost its control in the afternoon and crashed into roadside railing on a flank, connecting A.J.C. Bose Road flyover and Parama (Maa) flyover, at Park Circus area under Beniapukur Police Station limits in the city.

Two women, who were riding the scooty without helmet, were injured in the mishap and rushed to SSKM hospital nearby.

Meanwhile, as many as three persons were reportedly injured in a collision between an auto and a scooter in Kolkata's New Town area.

Senior officials of Kolkata Police said that traffic cops were taking strictest action against rule violators in the Christmas week.
