Kolkata: 2 arrested in Korpan Shah murder case

Kolkata, Dec 21 (IBNS): The Kolkata Police has arrested two canteen staffs of Nil Ratan Sarkar (NRS) Medical College's boys hostel in connection with Korpan Shah murder case on Saturday night.

According to reports, names of the arrested men are Kartik Mandal and Rabi Andia.

After some hours of questioning at the Entally Police Station on Saturday, the police arrested the canteen staffs.

The police produced Kartik Mandal and Rabi Andia in Sealdah Court on Sunday.

The court sent them to police custody for seven days. They will be produced in the court on Dec 27.

Police told that the canteen in the boys hostel of NRS Medical College did not have any legal permission of the college authority.

Korpan Shah was found dead in the boys' hostel of the NRS Medical College and Hospital on Nov 16. The man died after he was allegedly bobbitised and beaten up by students and junior doctors of Kolkata's NRS Medical College and Hospital, the police said.
