Kerala: Fireworks accident in Kasargod injures 150, 8 in critical condition

Thiruvananthapuram/IBNS: At least 150 people were injured after a fireworks accident took place near the Veerarkavu Temple in Kerala's Kasargod on Monday late night, media reports said.

Eight out of 150 injured are in critical condition.

The injured were rushed to hospitals in Kasargod, Kannur and Mangaluru.

The accident is suspected to have taken place after a fireworks storage facility near the temple caught fire.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

As per some reports, a misfired cracker burst during a fireworks display at a festival in Nileshwar, Kasargod district hit a building storing explosives.
