Kerala: Explosives seized in Nadapuram

Kozhikode May 3 (UNI) The police has recovered explosives from a deserted compound in Nadapuram near here on Friday.

Police said the explosives contained 13 pipe bombs and three steel.bombs.

The bombs were seen in plastic covers kept in a plastic bucket, which was buried in the soil in an unoccupied compound near Chelakad fire station in Nadapuram.

The bags containing the bombs came out while a JCB was digging in the compound for construction purpose.

Police sources said the bombs were high-power explosives.

Nadapuram has since long been a sensitive area with intermittent clashes beteeen the CPI(M) and Muslim League cadres.

Instances of bomb throwing on party offices were also been reported in the past.
