Kerala announces Rs. 10 crore aid to earthquake-hit Turkey, Syria

Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: Kerala Finance Minister KN Balagopal on Wednesday announced Rs 10 crore for the humanitarian assistance to Turkiye and Syria which were devastated by the earthquake.

The Finance Minister announced this in his reply speech after the budget debate in the State Assembly.

Apart from this, the Minister also made more budget announcements that included Rs. 10 crore to solve waterlogging in Ernakulam, Rs. 5 crore to solve the waterlogging in Arur and Rs. 5 crore for cleaning Ashtamudi backwater in Kollam.

The state legislative assembly also paid homage to people who had lost their lives in the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented the resolution and all the members of the House stood in silence for a minute in honour of the earthquake victims.
