Srinagar: Four days after the body of a missing soldier in Jammu and Kashmir was found, the police said on Monday that he was abducted and killed by the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorists.

The body of 28-year-old Sameer Ahmad Malla of the 5 J&K Light Infantry regiment was found in an orchard in Khag area of Budgam on Mar 10.

Police said Malla had no firearm injury.

The police on Monday said it had arrested a militant associate of LeT involved in the crime and identified three militants involved in the murder and abduction.

“The case of Malla turned to be terror act of abduction and murder,” Inspector General of Police (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar said. Malla, a resident of Lokipora Khag, was posted in Jammu and was on leave since February 19.

He went missing a week ago. He was recruited in the Territorial Army in 2017.
