Srinagar/IBNS/UNI: Three soldiers were killed in action in a terrorist attack at the Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri Thursday early morning, media reports said.

Two terrorists have been gunned down.

"Some terrorists tried to cross the fence of the army camp at Pargal. The sentry challenged them and an exchange of fire took place," Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh said as quoted by NDTV.

Police claimed the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) is behind the attack.

Security officials have cordoned off the area and additional forces have been dispatched for a search operation.

Security forces were on high alert in Rajouri and Poonch districts following intelligence inputs of suspicious movement in the two districts, sources said.

Many areas in Darhal of Rajouri were under combing operation and deployment of forces were increased following the inputs, ahead of the Independence Day.
