Kashmir : Third militant gunned down in Pulwama, encounter continues for second day

Srinagar, Jul 4 (IBNS) : Security forces gunned down the third terrorist on Tuesday on Tuesday morning in the ongoing encounter with holed up militants that stretched beyond 24 hours in south Kashmir's Pulwama district, reports said.

At least ten  protesters, who tried to hold back security forces from carrying on with the operation, have also been injured in the clashes with the forces near the encounter site.

According to reports, the three slain militants were said to be newly recruited. One more militant is believed to be hiding in a house.

The encounter began on Monday morning when forces, acting on specific inputs, cordoned off Bamnoo village in the district.
