Srinagar, Oct 3 (IBNS): Suspected militants snatched five self -loading rifles from a police picket in Samnoo village of South Kashmir Kulgam district on Monday evening.

According to reports, group of militants barged into the minority police post in Samnoo village and snatched five rifles and fled from the spot by taking advantage of darkness.

However, it was not confirmed whether security forces were guarding the post when militants entered  the camp.

Soon after the incident, security forces launched a search operation in the area to nab the suspected militants.

Over 90 civilians died and thousands civilians, including security personnel, were injured since violence hit the Kashmir Valley following death of Wani.
