Kashmir: Student killed in terrorists firing

Srinagar, Apr 26 (IBNS): A college student was killed on Thursday in firing by suspected terrorists on a security forces' Road Opening Party check in Anantnag district of Southern part of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to reports, suspected terrorists opened fire on check point of police and CRPF after receiving inputs that some terrorists were travelling in a vehicle at Lazibal in Anantnag area of the district.

When security forces signaled a private Santro car to stop for checking, the terrorists opened fire resulting in serious injury to one pedestrian.

The injured, later identified as 2nd Year College student Shakeeb Shabir(25) of Shopian, suffered a critical bullet injury in the chest.

He later sccumbed to injuries while being rushed to the nearby hospital

Soon after the incident,  a massive  search operation was launched by the forces to  to track down the terrorists.
