PMAY cases

Kashmir: PMAY cases approved in Anantnag, Pahalgam

Anantnag/IBNS: In a major push to the commitment of good governance, the District Administration of Anantnag and the Pahalgam Development Authority Sunday approved several long pending PMAY cases.

More than 30 PMAY cases belonging to the economically weaker sections were granted approval by the Building Operation Controlling Authority (BOCA) for construction.

These houses had been pending approval for four to five years, as the PMAY design was not in consonance with the Pahalgam Master Plan 2032 guidelines.

The District Administration while taking cognisance of delay in sanctioning of these cases approached the office of the Chief Town Planner and came up with a new design that was in coherence with the Pahalgam Master Plan 2032.

The move will benefit family's under approved cases and ensure that new cases will be reviewed and sanctioned as per the newly curated design, official sources said.

It is pertinent to mention that in the last five years, only one PMAY case had been sanctioned due to this hurdle.
