Kashmir Mirwaiz welcomes Modi's speech on Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 15 (IBNS): Moderate Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Tuesday welcomed Prime Minister Narendara Modi’s remarks that the Kashmir issue cannot be resolved through bullets or abuses .

“If insaniyat(humanity)  and insaaf (justice) replace goli (bullet) and gali (abuse) the resolution will follow,. Welcome @narendramodi also believes ‘Goli & gaali will not help resolve Kashmir’ if insaniyat & insaaf replace them resolution can become a reality,” Mirwaiz tweeted.

Modi, in his Independence Day speech,  said that “only love and not bullets or abuse can help resolve the dragging problem in Jammu and Kashmir”.

"We are committed for the development of Jammu and Kashmir and this is also the resolve of every Indian," the Prime Minister said in his speech from the Red Fort in Delhi.

India is celebrating Independence Day on Tuesday.
