Kashmir issue needs a political solution: Omar

| | Nov 10, 2014, at 05:03 am
Bandipora, Nov 9 (IBNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday said that neither him nor his party would rest or withdraw its political and ideological stand till the Kashmir issue is resolved within a political solution.

"I have always maintained that Kashmir needs a political solution and have said this not only on the floor of the Assembly but also in front
of a visiting Prime Minister. Let me assure you that we will never ever waver in our stand on the resolution of the Kashmir issue. We are
not like others whose fancy, innovative political slogans have a one-year shelf-life after which they cease to exist for that party," Abdullah said.

Omar said while addressing a public meeting at Alusa village in north Kashmir's Bandipora Assembly constituency.

The assembly polls in the state will be held in five-phases from Nov 25.
