V Somanna, a minister in the Karnata BJP government, was caught on camera as he slapped a woman at an event where he distributed land titles.

Somanna, who is Karnataka's Minister of Infrastructure Development, was in Hangala village of Chamarajanagar district to distribute land titles at a public program.

At the programme, he was confronted by a woman who was miffed over not getting a land title.

In the video, it appears that the minister lost his temper and slapped the woman.

The woman despite being hit is seen immediately touching the minister's feet.

NDTV reported that he later apologised.

About 175 people were eligible for title deeds for land regularisation in rural areas under Section 94C of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, NDTV reported.

The woman said she approached V Somanna to relate the ordeals she faced in attempting to get a land title under Karnataka Land Revenue Act.
