Karnataka govt permits plying of buses, autos during night curfew

Bengaluru/UNI: The Karnataka government has permitted transport services to operate during the curfew hours between 9 pm and 5 am across the state with an immediate effect.

Due to this decision, bus services of BMTC, KSRTC, NEKRTC and NWKRTC and autos and cabs would be plying passengers during the night curfew.

In accordance with the COVID-19 control measures, people would be allowed to commute from bus stands to their homes if they possess bus tickets of the journey they just undertook.

Standard Operating Procedures(SOP)'s and other guidelines would be implemented, said an order issued by Chief Secretary TM Vijay Bhaskar said Thursday night.

The order added that during the curfew hours- autos, taxis and cabs have been given permission to pick commuters from pickup points or bus stands.
