Karnataka BJP leaders awaiting for Amit Shah's nod to form government
Bengaluru, July 25 (UNI): After defeating the Confidence motion in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Tuesday successfully, the State BJP leaders are anxiously awaiting green signal from the Central leaders to form the government in the State.
Former Chief Minister and the Opposition leader in the Assembly B S Yeddyurappa, who played a vital role in toppling the JD(S)-Congress coalition government, remained in his home on Thursday, meeting party leaders and workers.
Meanwhile, few of the senior State BJP leaders, including former Chief Minister Jagadish Shetter, Basavaraj Bommai and Madhuswamy met BJP National President Amit Shah and discussed about the prevailing political situations in Karnataka.
The leaders sought direction from the senior leaders on the formation of an alternate government in Karnataka following the resignation of the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
The Central party leaders, however did not gave any indication over staking claim to form the government in Karnataka, and conveyed that there needs to be more caution before taking any final discussion on the issue.
The Central leaders, are reportedly awaiting decision of the Speaker Ramesh Kumar, who is yet to take any final decision on the resignations of the rebel Congress and the JD(S) MLAs.
“The Central BJP leaders are expected to meet again in the evening to take stock of the political situation in Karnataka” one of the Senior BJP leaders, who met Amit Shah told UNI.
The political stalemate is expected to end in a day or two, the senior BJP leader added.
