Mumbai, Sep 9 (IBNS): The Mumbai municipal corporation said on Friday that it will look into the alleged bribery complaint by actor entertainer Kapil Sharma against the corporation, according to media reports.

Sharma has alleged that an official from the civic body had asked for a bribe of rupees five lakhs to be allowed to set up a new office in Mumbai.

Sharma tweeted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, "I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office @narendramodi' and followed it up with another tweet saying, "Yeh hain aapke achhe din ? @narendramodi".

As the post went viral, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) asked Sharma to lodge a formal complaint, naming the officer who has asked for the bribe.

Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, tweeted addressing Sharma, "Kapilbhai pls provide all info. Have directed MC,BMC to take strictest action. We will not spare the culprit.@KapilSharmaK9 @narendramodi."

The BMC said on Friday that it will not take any action before probing into the matter.

Notable actor Paresh Rawal tweeted, "At least CM Fadnavis promises to take quick action in #KapilSharma case. CM Kejriwal G to kahte hain ki pahle Bribe lene wale ki video banao."
