Joshimath situation worrying: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

| @indiablooms | Jan 10, 2023, at 10:43 pm

New Delhi: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday expressed concern over the current situation in Uttarakhand's Joshimath.

"The situation in Joshimath is very worrying. The first priority of the Centre and State government should be to listen to the local residents and help them," Vadra wrote in a tweet.

She added, "It is very important to listen to the voice of the local people on construction works being done on the mountains."

The Congress on Monday demanded that the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre to declare the situation in Joshimath as a national disaster, a day after Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, PK Mishra held a high-level review of building damage and land subsidence in the city.

The Centre on Sunday gave clear tasks to a team of experts from seven central institutions to deal with the situation in Joshimath.
