J&K: Grenade thrown at police headquarters
Srinagar, June 11 (IBNS) Unknown gunmen threw a rifle grenade at the Jammu and Kashmir Police headquarters late Tuesday night which exploded on the premises of the high security zone.
However no damage was reported.
The police headquarters is situated at Batamalo area of Srinagar and has witnessed a lot of violence during last several years.
The police said that the attack was carried out by a militant outfit and the incident took place minutes after a security meeting was held at there that was attended by top officials of the department.
Police sources said: "We have started an investigation to nab the attackers as soon as possible."
No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
