J&K encounter kills 2 militants

Rafiabad, Feb 21 (IBNS) Two militants were killed in an encounter with the security forces in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Saturday.

Sources told IBNS that on specific information about the presence of some militants in village Chatloora  of Rafiabad town , the Army, the police and  the counter insurgency forces cordoned off the area at around 4:30 a.m on Saturday.

According to reports, as the joint team of forces intensified the searches the militants hiding in the house opened fire on the search party and later fled from the spot.

In a retaliatory fire, two militants were killed, said police.

Meanwhile, the Police Media Cell said the firing was going on till last reports came in.
