Jharkhand Education Minister kicks up controversy: Garlands APJ Abdul Kalam's picture
Reports said the incident has triggered a controversy, raising questions over the lack of knowledge of a state Education Minister as
she paid homage to a living person.
Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Manish Jaiswal, the principal of the school where the event was held were also among several other people
present.
Yadav was invited as the chief guest for the event where she inaugurated the smart classes. Before the inauguration, she garlanded
the photo of the former president.
Yadav later said that in schools, photos of great leaders are garlanded to honour them. She argued that Kalam is a great scientist
and there is nothing objectionable in garlanding his picture.
