New Delhi: Former JD(S) MLA Ramaswamy joined the BJP on Saturday at the party's headquarters in New Delhi.

Ramaswamy joined the BJP in the presence of Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur.

A four-term MLA from the Arkalgud assembly constituency in Karnataka, Ramaswamy had resigned from JD(S) and memberships of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Friday.

Welcoming Ramaswamy into the party, Anurag Thakur said the joining of Ramaswamy will further strengthen the BJP.

"As a crusader against corruption and land grabbers, Ramaswamy has earned a lot of respect," said Thakur.

Speaking after joining the BJP, Ramaswamy said he is impressed with the working of the BJP.

He said that he is a victim of abuse of money and power because he always use to talk about irregularities and corruption.

"Without any condition, I’m joining BJP. I just want an opportunity to serve people,” he added.
