Kohima/IBNS: Hiroshi Suzuki, Japan's ambassador to India, visited Nagaland for two days from last Sunday.

Accompanied by a team of embassy counselors, Suzuki visited several historical sites in and around Kohima, such as the Heritage Village Kisama, World War Museum, War Cemetery, and Kohima Cathedral, stated Nagaland Post

During his visit, he also had the opportunity to meet individuals who are involved in the collection of remains of Japanese soldiers who were buried in and around Kohima during World War II.

Taking to twitter, Suzuki stated, “Visited Nagaland for the first time. I had a fabulous lunch with 3 ladies from the Kohima Japanese Bone Collecting Team.

"They have been contributing to the Japanese bone collection mission for decades. I very much enjoyed the local delicacies of Nagaland.”

“Their episode of friendship with Japanese veterans and their family touched my heart,” the ambassador stated further.

Later in the evening, the Ambassador was scheduled to meet with Neiphiu Rio, the Chief Minister of Nagaland.
