Jammu-Srinagar NH remains closed on Saturday too

Srinagar, Jan 7 (IBNS): Vehicular traffic along Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remained closed for the second consecutive day on Saturday following heavy snowfall and landslides, according to media reports.

The Kashmir valley has been experiencing heavy snowfall since early morning on Friday. The snowfall resulted in disruption of electricity and traffic.

Even Srinagar airport had to be closed down, according to media reports.

Kashmir University on Friday postponed all examinations scheduled to be held Saturday and Sunday due to the snowfall in the Valley.

According to Skymet Weather, two successive active Western Disturbances are moving across Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in heavy snow and rain.
