Jammu: House collapses in Doda area, 7 killed

Jammu, Apr 3 (IBNS): At least seven people lost their lives after a landslide hit Doda area of Jammu province on Friday, police said.
Initial reports suggested that heavy rains in the area since last several hours triggered the landslides which struck the house of Satish Kumar in Baisa village of Doda on Friday morning and left seven killed.
 
“We have deputed the teams of Police and Army for rescue operation, and rescue operation is on to find out the bodies of trapped persons in the house," a police official said.
 
He further said that trapped persons included Satish Kumar's wife, two daughters, two sons and his brother-in-law.
 
So far no dead body has been retrieved from the debris.
 
"We cannot provide you the exact figure how many people are trapped inside the house," police official said.
