Jammu and Kashmir: Terrorist killed during encounter with security forces in Anantnag

Srinagar: A terrorist was killed during an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag region on Friday, officials said.

The encounter started between joint forces and militants in the Mumanhal locality of Arwani area in Jammu and Kashmir.

The identity of the terrorist is not known.

The gunfight broke ar Mumanhal Arwani when a joint of team of police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and a search operation following an input about presence of militants in the area.

"An encounter broke out during the CASO," officials said.

Police said the security forces are on duty.

Kashmir Police Zone tweeted: "#AnantnagEncounterUpdate: 01 unidentified #terrorist killed. Search going on. Further details shall follow.@JmuKmrPolice."
