Jammu and Kashmir: Teenage girl injured in acid attack

Srinagar/UNI: A teenage girl suffered burn injuries when she was attacked with acid in south Kashmir district of Shopian on Tuesday afternoon, a police official said.

He said a 17-year-old girl, who was not identified, was attacked by one Waseem Ahmad Shah at village Kral Check, Shopian with acid.

The girl suffered burn injuries on her shoulder in the attack, he said adding she has been admitted to local hospital, where she was referred to Srinagar.

Police have registered a case and launched a massive hunt to arrest the accused.
