| @indiablooms | Apr 05, 2019, at 04:14 pm

Srinagar, Apr 5 (UNI) Mobile internet service of all Cellular companies, including Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), was suspended on Friday as a precautionary measure in Srinagar.

The mobile internet was suspended in Srinagar to prevent spread of rumours following clashes and fire in central jail. Two inmates received pellet injuries in security force action on detenues who were protesting against shifting of some of them to outside the valley jails late last night.

However, the broadband of BSNL and point-to-point internet service of some private companies were functioning though people complained low speed.
Suspension of service has badly hit the students, doctors and other professionals besides journalists, who had to file their reports on fixed internet lines.

Airtel service provider informed its customers that as per government instructions, the internet services has been temporarily suspended in Srinagar today.
